Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates should fulfil the following requirements:
- Must be a citizen of India.
- Applicant must be a local resident of Begunia Block.
- Minimum age should be 18 years as on the date of advertisement.
- Applicant should be literate, preferably Matriculate or equivalent, with overall comprehension ability.
- Applicant should have good moral character.

Para Legal Volunteers may be selected from groups including:
- Teachers, including retired teachers
- Retired Government employees and senior citizens
- M.S.W. students and teachers
- Anganwadi Workers
- Doctors/Physicians
- Students and Law Students until they enrol as lawyers
- Members of non-political, service-oriented NGOs and clubs
- Members of Women Neighborhood Groups, Maithri Sanghams and Self Help Groups
- Educated prisoners with good behaviour serving long-term sentences
- Other suitable persons identified by the DLSA or TLSC

Salary / Honorarium
The Para Legal Volunteer position is not considered a regular job and does not carry salary, remuneration or wages. An honorarium fixed by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) from time to time may be provided.
Selection Process
The selection will be conducted by a committee headed by the Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority.
The selection process may include:
- Screening/Shortlisting of applications
- Interview
- Final selection by the Selection Committee
The Selection Committee may shortlist candidates depending on the number of applications received. Incomplete applications will be rejected. Preference will be given to women, and representation of suitable candidates belonging to SC/ST, minorities and other backward classes is to be ensured.
