Candidates must satisfy the prescribed residential/service-area condition for the particular Anganwadi Centre.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Candidate must have passed Higher Secondary (+2) from a recognized Board/Council.
- Candidate must be able to speak, read and write Odia.
- The prescribed Odia-language qualification must also be fulfilled as mentioned in the recruitment advertisement.
Age Limit
As on 01 January 2026:
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 35 Years
Other Eligibility
- The applicant must be a female candidate belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category.
- Candidate must be a permanent resident within the prescribed service area/hamlet of the concerned Anganwadi Centre.
- Existing Anganwadi Helpers having more than 5 years of required service may be considered under the applicable provisions.

Salary / Honorarium
Selected Anganwadi Workers will receive a consolidated monthly honorarium of ₹10,000/-.
The engagement is honorary/voluntary in nature under the ICDS scheme and does not constitute regular civil government employment.
Selection Process
Selection will be based on the prescribed academic merit and applicable additional weightage under Odisha Anganwadi engagement guidelines.
Additional weightage may be applicable for categories such as:
- Scheduled Tribe
- PwD candidates with 40% or more disability
- Widow
- Orphan girl
- Destitute/Divorced/Deserted women
- Higher educational qualification
- Relevant ECCE/Balwadi experience
The final merit panel will remain valid for the period prescribed in the recruitment guidelines.
