Impotant Dates for RRC WR Apprentices 2024-25:

The Western Railway (WR) Trade Apprentices 2024 application process will begin on 23 September 2024. The last date to apply online is 22 October 2024, with applications closing at 5:00 PM. Candidates must also pay the examination fee by 22 October 2024.

Age Details for RRC WR Apprentices 2024-25:

  • As of 22nd October 2024, applicants for the RRC WR Apprenticeship must be at least 15 years old and not older than 24 years. This age requirement ensures that young individuals have the opportunity to enter the workforce through vocational training.
  • An age relaxation policy is in place for SC/ST and OBC applicants applying for the RRC WR Apprenticeship. SC/ST candidates are granted an additional five years beyond the upper age limit, while OBC candidates receive a 3-year extension.
  • For Persons with Disabilities (PWD), the upper age limit is relaxed by ten years. This provides additional time for PWD candidates to apply for the RRC WR Apprenticeship, ensuring greater accessibility and inclusivity.

Qualification Required RRC WR Apprentice:

  • Candidates are often required to have completed their Matriculation, or the 10th Class, under the 10+2 examination system. This involves achieving a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized board.

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

ITI (Industrial Training Institute), along with their corresponding ITI trades. Each entry represents a specific skill set, facilitating students’ training in diverse vocational areas, from mechanics and electrical work to carpentry and electronics.

An ITI certificate affiliated with NCVT or SCVT is mandatory in the relevant trade, as specified below:-

Mode of Selection:

  • Selection of eligible applicants for training under the Apprentice Act of 1961 will be determined by a merit list created from the average percentage of marks obtained in both Matriculation, requiring a minimum aggregate of 50%, and the ITI examination, with equal weightage given to each.
  • If two applicants have identical marks, preference will be given to the older candidate. If their ages are the same, the applicants who completed the Matriculation exam first will be prioritized.
  • No written test or viva will be conducted during the selection process. Applicants must not mail physical copies of their applications, certificates, or documents to RRC/WR; they must upload them online.
