The Department of Posts, Odisha Circle has released the official notification for the Competitive Examination 2025 to recruit Postman, Mail Guard, and Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) posts from eligible Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS). 📌 Post-Wise Vacancy Details
📨 Postman & Mail Guard – Total 53 Vacancies
Openings are available in divisions like Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Balasore, Rourkela, Sambalpur, and more.
📬 Mail Guard (RMS Divisions) – Total 6 Vacancies
Vacancies under RMS ‘N’, RMS ‘K’, and RMS ‘BG’ units.
🧹 Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) – Total 60 Vacancies
Positions available across CO/ROs, DAP (Cuttack), Civil Wing, Electrical Wing, and several divisions.
Note: Vacancies are provisional and subject to change.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
🔹 For Postman & Mail Guard:
- Education: 10th standard pass.
- Other Skills:
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Familiarity with local language.
- Valid two-wheeler or LMV driving license (Postman only).
- Age Limit: Up to 50 years as on 01.01.2025.
- Service Eligibility: Minimum 5 years of regular service as GDS.
🔹 For Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS):
- Education: No educational qualification required.
- Age Limit: No upper age limit.
- Service Eligibility: At least 3 years of regular GDS service.
📝 Examination Pattern & Syllabus:
- Three Papers will be conducted without any break for Postman/Mail Guard.
- Only Paper-I is required for MTS applicants.
- Paper-III (local language test) is mandatory for those applying for Postman/Mail Guard.
- Paper-IV (DEST): Qualified candidates will appear for a Data Entry Skill Test at a later stage.
Note: DEST will be conducted in English only.
🗺️ Examination Centers:
- Exams will be held at all Circle and Regional Headquarters across Odisha.
📋 How to Apply:
Eligible GDS candidates must fill the application form (Annexure-I) and submit it to their respective Divisional or Controlling Units by 8th August 2025. All applications must be verified and forwarded according to the schedule.
Also submit the Preference Form (Annexure-II) for post and division choices.
🔍 Additional Instructions:
- Late applications will not be accepted under any circumstances.
- Driving license condition affects pay increment (for Postman).
- Candidates must fulfill all eligibility criteria before applying.
- Admit cards will be issued by the Divisional/Unit Heads on 25th August 2025.
