The Rourkela Forest Division is inviting applications for the engagement of Veterinary Officer and Livestock Assistant for its Mobile Veterinary Unit (MVU). The walk-in interview is scheduled for 15th January 2025 at 11:00 AM in the conference hall of the Rourkela Forest Division.

Objectives of the Mobile Veterinary Unit:
- Provide urgent healthcare services to sick and injured wild animals.
- Conduct daily surveillance and monitoring of wildlife.
- Address disease outbreaks in wild animals.
- Perform diagnostic services on-site.
- Reduce man-animal conflicts through public awareness campaigns.
- Support anti-depredation squads in rescuing and rehabilitating wild animals.
- Educate forest-fringe livestock owners about bio-security measures.
- Assist in departmental wildlife rescue and translocation activities.
Veterinary Services to be Provided:
- Treatment of wild animals on-site.
- Referral of complex cases to specialized institutions.
- Early disease detection.
- Vaccination monitoring in forest areas.
- Tranquilization and sedation of wild animals.
- Awareness creation among local communities.
- Sample collection for laboratory analysis.

Note: Retired professionals or educated unemployed youth with the desired qualifications are eligible to apply.
Area of Operation:
The MVU will primarily cover the Rourkela Circle area, providing wildlife healthcare and disease control services. In emergencies, the MVU may be deployed to adjacent divisions.
Operational Modalities:
- The DFO of the concerned division will manage MVU operations.
- Staff will be selected through transparent procedures.
- Fixed schedules will be followed for village visits.
- Regular reviews will ensure operational effectiveness.
Monthly Work Plan:

Monitoring and Supervision:
- The DFO will do concurrent monitoring with assistance from ACF.
- Monthly performance reviews by the Assistant Conservator of Forests.
- Quarterly reviews by RCCFs of the Circle.
- Certificates for work done will be mandatory for processing remuneration.
